South Africa’s most beloved export Trevor Noah has done extremely well for himself during the past year. From hosting the Grammy Awards, to experiencing life as a global citizen with his latest comedy tour.
Trevor’s latest big project has come in the form of his brand-new podcast – What Now with Trevor Noah – a show that is focused on giving viewers an in-depth understanding into the minds and lives of some of the world’s biggest stars.
Thus far the show which launched on the streaming platform Spotify has three episodes with guests that include Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Kerry Washington as well as the most recent, Billionaire Bill Gates.
While netizens praise the comedian for this success, many are now questioning why he has only invited international guests on the show. Others meanwhile have criticized Trevor, who is known for offering his political opinion, for not mentioning anything about the ongoing war in Palestine.
In a recent Instagram post the 39-year-old shared a snippet of his conversation with Bill. Here he highlights that most billionaires give money away freely, because it’s not really money that they want but rather the access that money will give them in order make an impact in the world.

Since releasing the post, many entered the comment section and questioned his stance.
One user wrote: “I respect you so much but your silence on Palestinians has broken my heart. Your book or story changed people’s lives. Please use your platform for good.”
Another added: “You were always vocal about your experience with apartheid living here in South Africa. How can you now be totally silent on the blatant apartheid and genocide happening in Gaza?”
Meanwhile another person came to Trevor’s defense adding that the war has been ongoing for decades and that one celebrity speaking out won’t change anything.
“After reading some of the comments I see that some of you give celebrities way too much power. Yes, it is horrible what is happening in Gaza but what really makes any of you think Trevor is going to be the one to solve it?
“This is 75 years’ worth of fighting that is not going to end because a celebrity said so. Most of you are only looking for someone famous to be on your side and if Trevor were to say anything that you do not agree with you would want him cancelled. Please think of what you guys really want before you ask for it.”
