On April 1st, one of the most well-liked streaming services announced the comeback of a legendary drama series that captivated the country upon its release.
Netflix announced the return of Yizo Yizo, a South African television drama that made its debut on SABC 1 in 1999 and continued for three seasons till 2004.

The show’s premise was a fictionalised account of the challenges experienced by teenagers who attended Supetsela High in Sowetan. The series was therefore marketed as an educational series that addressed themes like drug abuse, teenage pregnancies, student-teacher relationships, and gangsterism.
According to reports, more than three million individuals watched the premiere. Netflix shared the exciting news on social media confirming that season one will start Friday, 21 April 2023, followed by season two on Friday, 28 April 2023.
The star-studded cast of the drama series included the like of Meshack Mavuso (as Javas), Tshepo Ngwane (as Thabo Nonyane), Charmaine Mtinta (as Nomsa), Christopher Kubheka (as Gunman), Ernest Msibi (as Chester Serote), Ronnie Nyakale (as Papa Action) also same role played by Zola (Bonginkosi Dlamini).
This announcement was made on April’s fool and man y thought it was a joke, however, Netflix has not gone back on their word and many have shown excited about the shows return.
