In interviews, Ronnie has described this secondary income stream as “fulfilling,” noting that it gives him an opportunity to connect with everyday South Africans while staying financially stable.
Five years ago, he turned to ride-hailing as a means to survive during South Africa’s difficult economic times, which were challenging for many. He saw it as a way to stay afloat while pursuing his acting career.
According to SowetanLive, some fans are star-struck when they realise it’s Ronnie picking them up, but he shared that most encounters are pleasant and filled with warm, friendly exchanges.
The publication added that Ronnie encouraged others not to judge this kind of work, stressing the importance of pursuing income opportunities without worrying about societal stigma.
Looking to the future, he already has another venture in mind – opening a fruit and vegetable market to further diversify his income and business interests.
Ronnie’s impressive acting résumé spans roles in major productions such as ‘Generations: The Legacy’, ‘Yizo Yiz’o, ‘Blood Diamond’, ‘Machine Gun Preacher’, and ‘Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema’.
These roles helped him build a successful career in the entertainment industry.
He bid farewell to ‘Generations: The Legacy’ on August 28, after an unforgettable decade of playing the beloved Cosmo Diale, a character that made him a household name in South Africa.
