Those who missed out on attending the Grammy Award-winning superstar, Tyla’s homecoming concert in South Africa can soon have a front-row seat in her audience.
This comes as the South African streaming platform Showmax, has made a surprise announcement to bring the show live into the comfort of your own home.
The singer marked her first return to mzansi shores in December last year since her meteoric rise in the music industry where she performed to three sold-out crowds in Cape Town and Pretoria – and after receiving a warm welcome in the Jacaranda City, she announced her decision to have a second concert in Pretoria.

Speaking about what it means to have a streaming platform such as Showmax, and be the first in Africa to stream live homegrown concerts, Yatish Narsi, Chief Marketing Officer at Showmax and MultiChoice South Africa, said that they were thrilled to be in the position to be able to shine a spotlight on Tyla’s homecoming.
“This marks our first live-streamed entertainment event, underscoring our commitment to making world-class experiences accessible across the continent.”
As groundbreaking as it may be, Yatish says that the objective is not to smash records with the live stream.
“We’re changing the narrative of what it means to succeed on our continent. Showmax doesn’t just aim to be the best in Africa; we aim to take our place among the best in the world,” he explained.
