Grammy winner Tyla appeared in Gap’s spring 2024 campaign.
From singing hit songs, to attending fashion shows sitting next to the most prominent figures, Tyla has shown that there is nothing she can’t do.
The singer who hails from Johannesburg adds another big achievement to her accolades as she shows off her moves in this year’s campaign called ‘Linen Moves.’
Rolling Stone publication- which focuses on the tops news stories within the music industry- says that this campaign was inspired by the singer’s personal Y2K style.
The Y2K fashion trend has become a generational movement, this fashion trend emerged in the early 2000s and has a more retro-futuristic look to it.
Tyla told the music publication that, “It’s an absolute honour to be in a Gap campaign – so many iconic artists have worked with Gap, and I now get to be one of them,” adding, “I’m excited for my fans to see me do a new type of dance where I’m styled in comfortable clothes with my own personal touches. It was really fun — a true celebration of music, fashion and dance.”
The Gap campaign showcases a newly conceptualised rendition of the music clip for “Back On 74” by Jungle, a British electronic music project which was founded by producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland.
