The South African artist and songwriter Tyla has been quite a hot topic both locally and internationally.
Tyla’s name will forever be written within the Hall of Fame as she has not only been one of the youngest South Africans to be nominated for a Grammy award but also managed to beat the record by being named the second South African to feature in the Billboard Hot 100 list after the late legend, Hugh Masekela.
Her appearance on this list makes her song the highest charting solo song by an African female artist to be positioned on the Billboard Hot 100 chart list.

Meanwhile, as Tyla continues to spread her brand globally, many South Africans have admired how untouched her authenticity has been. South Africans have been proud on how she remains grounded to her roots and identity by stating that she has been a true representation of the country and a proud patriot.
Speaking to Zanele Potwana on the Expresso Show, Tyla touched on how she is always just purely being herself. She further stated, “People overseas, they want to see something real and new so I would never just go there and be someone else.”
The star further proudly said, “I’m a girl from Johannesburg, South Africa. And I’m going to be a girl from Johannesburg, South Africa wherever I go.”

What’s a better way to close off a show without Tyla teaching people her famous viral dance challenge.
Similar to how she had done with Jennifer Hudson, Tyla went ahead and taught Zanele the steps to the Water dance challenge. The Expresso presenter did not struggle much as she can be seen twerking her way while singing the “make me lose my breathe” lyrics to Tyla’s hit song.
