South African DJ fondly known as Uncle Waffles, real name Lungelihle Zwane, is taking the world by storm after securing a residency with one of the United Kingdom’s biggest radio stations – BBC Radio 1.
Taking to Twitter to announce her big news, she said ‘So proud to announce that I will be joining BBC RADIO 1’s residency as a host where I will be shedding the spot light on the genre that changed my life; AMAPIANO and some of its hottest songs to date! This is not the first time the South African DJ has garnered International attention. Uncle Waffles who blew up in the height of the pandemic following a video of DJ mixing skills going viral, got the nod from Hip Hop star, Drake. Now becoming one South Africa’s favourite DJ’s, she has been taking over the amapiano scene both on local and international shores.
