After years of providing its viewers with six entertaining and action-packed seasons, the gripping South African telenovela, The River has officially come to an end.
Following various aspects of the lives of two families from different backgrounds – Dlamini’s and the Mokoena’s – the compelling story gave its viewers an intersection of their worlds following the discovery of a diamond.
While Mzansi welcomed the star-studded cast of The River back in 2018, the show exceeded the expectations of many viewers as it peaked and received recognition shining above many other telenovelas.
The Tsheza Pictures production aired on 1Magic and became its flagship show. According to IOL News – a South African state-owned news website – “the Tshedza Pictures telenovela has been a game-changer in South African television.”
The talented cast along with the production team have worked hand in hand to ensure that they deliver a stellar job filled with humour, drama, and suspense. The efforts and dedication have led to the show acquiring prestigious awards at award show ceremonies.
Speaking on the exhilarating production and craft of the cast, viewers have deemed the shows as the best local production giving kudos to the scripts, plot twister, cinematography, and cast.
As the curtains closed on the international Emmy Award-nominated telenovela, viewers bid farewell to the citizens of Refilwe and all families that were part of Khanyisa Diamonds Mine. Upon consuming the most recent episode netizens took to social media to give the cast the flowers.
