Could the Showmax Original show Born into Fame be a stolen concept from Sipho Dube’s Growing Up Famous show?
Just days before the Showmax Original show premieres allegations on social media surface that it was a stolen idea from Sipho Dube.
Controversial blogger Musa Khawula, known as the pop of pop-culture on X (previously known as Twitter) about the reality series being a replicate of another idea. In the X post, he alleges that the Born into Fame reality show was supposed to be named Growing Up Famous which would follow the lives of children who grew up with famous parents.
Despite this revelation, the show will be airing on Showmax on the 18th of June with an entirely different cast.
Musa posted on X where he revealed the business proposal of the original concept that was retitled Born into Fame. The alleged original cast members included: Robot Boii, Shamiso Mosaka, Sni Mhlongo, Bahumi Madisakwane, Shilly Mhinga and Arthur Mafokate Jr.

On the 30th June 2023; Sipho Dube submitted a show proposal to Showmax titled ‘Growing Up Famous’ and it was stealth and passed to Goat Productions and retitled it to ‘Born Into Fame’.

Many X users felt that the original cast members were better than the cast members who will now be on the show.
