Despite Tshwala Bam breaking records globally mzansi users are not quite impressed with the remix with Nigerian musician Burna Boy.
The Amapiano hit song which features TitoM and Yuppe featuring S.N.E and Eeque was released earlier this year after it went viral on TikTok as a dance challenge.
Since its release, it has become the first South African song to reach number 1 on Apple Music and has been streamed over 100 million times on all music platforms. However, even with this instant success users felt that the Burna Boy feature was not needed as the track was able to pull the numbers without any other feature.
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela posted the news on X (previously known as Twitter) causing many internet users to not receive the remix very well.
After the announcement of the remix, I listened to the track and agreed with X users on the Burna Boy feature being unnecessary as TikTok was already promoting the song as many creators wanted to participate in the dance challenge.

One user said that the remix was unnecessary but also questioned if the artists wanted more recognition by being in a song with Burna Boy.
what an unnecessary remix , or the boys just wanted to lift their profile by being in a song with Burna? the song was already topping charts in Nigeria one will not think they were trying to reach the market

An X user commented:

One user spoke about how late rapper AKA would have called this behaviour out as he was known to speak his mind on X.
This is why AKA is needed. To be a bigger voice and call out this nonsense happening with SA artists selling out.
Nigeria doesn’t fuck with us and are using us and we are allowing this?! Which SA artist has been featured in Afrobeats hit songs?!
So dissapointing maan🚮
