The much-anticipated celebrity soccer tournament went down recently leaving two of the biggest stars in mzansi, Big Zulu who was representing gqom music and Dumi Mkokstad who led gospel music, in a tug-of-war, over game rules that were not followed.
Videos currently circulating on X, former Twitter, show Dumi explaining to SABC sports presenter Andile Ncube what his issue was after stopping the match which was going into a penalty shoot-out.
While holding his phone to prove to Andile what the tournament rules entail, Dumi explained that the gospel team followed what was stipulated.
According to him, a team has to be made up of artists or singers “who have record albums” and not professional soccer players. It is further said that each team has to have at least one female who will go on the field for a minimum of 10 minutes.
Dumi further shared that DJ Tira who led the gqom team came with 11 professional players despite the rules stipulating that a female has to be in the field for a minimum of 10 minutes. Tumi further added that the female went on the field during the last four minutes of the game.
While he was still explaining, an angry Big Zulu interrupted pointing a finger at the Vumb’elimnandi hitmaker saying, “You did the same thing last year, now that it’s happening again, the game now suddenly has to stop.”
Fuming, Big Zulu went on to call Tumi a boy adding that he doesn’t have “ubuntu” (humility), as he was holding everyone from playing.

Big Zulu later went to his Instagram page to further add fuel to the fire detailing, ” Ngixolise ukubiza uDumi ngo mfana kodwa leli iqiniso elimsulwa nje alikho elindlula leli (I apologise for calling Dumi a boy but that is a truth). Ukumoshela abantu abangaka iskhathi sabo (waste so many people’s precious time).
