Renowned actress Connie Chiume has been laid to rest after her recent passing at Gardens City Hospital in Johannesburg due to suffering a short illness.
A statement that broke many in the movie industry, not just in the country but internationally, as she graced viewers’ screens in shows such as Rhythm City, Gomora, Zone 14, Yizo Yizo 2, Black Panther and Black is King.
Taking to Instagram, the Chiume family announced that Connie’s memorial and funeral services would take place at Oasis of Life Family Church in Daveyton.
Connie’s family members and industry friends gathered at the church to pay tribute to her and celebrate the amazing talent she had during her 72 years of life. Many internet users continue to mourn and send their condolences for the loss of such incredible talent.

Taking to X, (formerly known as Twitter) users paid tribute to the actress. Speaking to news publication, Newzroom Afrika, actress Katlego Danke, who played Connie’s younger daughter in Gomora described her as a real mother as she carried herself with decorum on set and put other actors under her wing.
