It looks like Miss SA top 13 finalist Chidimma Vanessa Onwe’s family has added fuel to the fire after hosting a Nigerian-themed party to celebrate her advancement in the Miss SA pageant
Chidimma got Mzansi citizens unhappy after she was named as one of the beauty pageant finalists. Many people were calling for her disqualification as her father is Nigerian and her mom, a mix of Mozambican and Zulu tribes.
Chidimma however, was born in South Africa and just like any other South African, she is allowed to participate in any competition in the country.
The celebratory video that sent social media into a frenzy shows Chidimma standing next to Nigerian men in a party set up. In excitement, the Nigerian men shout “South Africa” while enjoying the sounds of Nigerian music playing loudly.
The video was accompanied by a caption that reads, ” We the family members are happy and continuously happy, #Chidimma2024.”

The video was not received well by internet users who called for Chidimma’s immediate removal. It was also enough to make Prince Kaybee change his mind after publicly declaring his support for the beauty queen.
In a now deleted post that was screen-grabbed by many, the award-winning deejay shared, ” Ey bafe2 ngiyaxolisa mina (guys, I am sorry).”
One internet user expressed his disgust towards the deejay’s previous support of Chidimma commenting:
Don’t forgive this swine… he has been gaslighting us too long for foreigners!
So-called celebrities/ politicians like Prince Kaybee, Julius Malema, etc, are always quick to denounce us & call us xenophobic!
We told them that this bogus character Chidimma Adetshina is not… pic.twitter.com/hRygsw1H6F— Kwena Molekwa (@Miz_Ruraltarain) July 29, 2024
Other internet users shared:
We gonna sign a Public Petition she must be remove immediately

Another user shared concerns for Chidimma commenting:
This young woman is compromising herself identifying with these characters who are likely in South Africa illegally.
Bad idea. https://t.co/oVdJBQ8yxf— Herman Mashaba (@HermanMashaba) July 30, 2024
A user was unhappy that other contestants weren’t receiving much publicity due to controversy surrounding Chidimma commenting:
The Miss SA controversy surrounding Chidinma is unfair to the other 15 contestants, as the focus over the past three weeks has been solely on her, and negative.🤞
For progress, I suggest she withdraw this year to resolve her nationality issues and return next year if necessary pic.twitter.com/VHGWQzMqrx
