Mzansi has been up in arms, fighting for a good cause, after a story of a seven-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted on school grounds, allegedly while she was waiting for her school transport in Bergview College.
The young girl bravely disclosed her ordeal, however, the sad part is that she could not recall who the offender was because she was allegedly drugged. This revelation left the police with three suspects: the caretaker, the school transport driver and the school principal, who has been identified as Jaco Pieterse.
The three suspects were asked for their DNA to see if they matched with the DNA that was found in Cwecwe, the caretaker, and the school transport driver complied and were allegedly cleared, leaving Jaco as a suspect because he refused to provide his DNA.
This unfortunate incident occurred in October 2024, and there have been no arrests made. This infuriated mzansi and prompted them to fight for Cwecwe. Numerous videos of influencers and celebrities calling for #JusticeforCwecwe were widely shared on social media platforms, alongside a signed petition.
Recently, a nationwide march was held to fight for #JusticeforCwecwe. The clips and pictures of the marches that filled the streets of mzansi in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Eastern Cape, Durban and Bloemfontein were widely shared on social media platforms.
