The internet came to a standstill when YFM producer Ngcebo Mcombothi accused popular amapiano producer and DJ Mr JazziQ, whose real name is Tumelo Manyoni, of sexual harassment in an incident that allegedly took place at the station’s premises, inside an elevator.
Sharing her story on social media, the producer claimed that JazziQ attempted to force himself on her in an elevator with other people present.
Ngcebo detailed that the Kilimanjaro hitmaker grabbed her by the waist and tried to forcefully kiss her, prompting her to push him.
The musician refuted these claims adding that he was never alone with the station employee as they were with other people in the lift. He further shared that he was to take Ngcebo to court for character assassination.
One of the people who was present in the lift that day was the DJ’s close friend Mzwakhe “Robot Boii” Mbuli who shared some light on the incident.
Before this, Robot Booi had been directing those asking for details of the occurrences to JazziQ’s statement that he released.
Sharing details on his podcast platform Popcorn Cheeseroom, the podcaster shared that the hardest thing about the false accusations is that when real victims of sexual assault come forward it may be hard for people to believe them because of this incident.
He further said, “It’s one thing to feel offended or to take offence at a comment or to feel some type of way about how the introduction of whatever happened right because the same girl posted I hate being disrespected on Instagram but then on Twitter she decided to call it sexual harassment.”
Detailing what might have ticked the YFM producer off he said, “We got to her place (work), she was wearing some ngubo (blanket) type of dress, my broer (brother) said you look warm.”
This comment the podcasters thought is what could have made Ngcebo feel that JazziQ was mocking her.
Robot Booi noted that Ngcebo’s lift allegations were all lies adding that he would have called his friend out as he would never allow something like that to happen in front of his eyes. He also noted that there was a total of seven people, including two other females in the lift that day who would have come forward if the allegations happened.
