At just 21- years-old, Joburg-born singer Tyla has reached yet another milestone by making her debut on American television in an appearance on NBC channel, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform her song Water.

After her performance, the talented singer took to Instagram to share just how much the moment meant to her.
“Not long ago I was just a girl in South Africa dreaming of moments like this… Even though I’ve been grinding for years it feels like this is all happening so fast.
She continued by adding: “I cannot wait for the world to see what an African Popstar looks like! ? ✨”

Meanwhile, fans in the comment section could not wait to express their excitement. Many entered the comment section waving the SA Flag, while singer Craig Lucas and other well-known celebs congratulated the young singer.

The song “water” has achieved a lot of success in recent times, after going viral on the social media platform, TikTok, the song also made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
It is also the only solo song by a South African Musician to appear on the chart since the legendary Hugh Masekela’s Grazing in the grass.
