Keys, purse, phone – some general items that one would normally have on their person when out and about. But when it comes to the internationally-recognised singer Tyla, she adds one more important item – pap.
Tyla (whose full name is Tyla Laura Seethal) appeared on American radio personality Big Boy’s Real 92.3 radio show, Big Boy TV, with co-hosts Natalia Perez and Ani Caribbean. There, she spoke about her musical journey, Drake following her on social media, her Grammy nomination, and of course, South Africa’s much-loved pap.
The topic of pap came about when co-host Ani asked Tyla what she misses from South Africa when travelling abroad.
The singer immediately responded, “The food. Yoh, hayi. I travel with a big pap from South Africa, so I can make it wherever I go.” She then explained to the American radio personalities what the food is, adding, “I don’t really like a lot of food. American food is cool but hayi, South African food is the best in my opinion.”
