South African music sensation Uncle Waffles was part of a promotional campaign for American jeweller Ice Box and they shared a video of her visiting one of their stores.
Ice Box posted a teaser video to their Instagram account, showing snippets of Uncle Waffles at the store browsing the windows for a new watch. They then posted another video where she told fans to come and get their jewelry at the store.
“Make sure you come to get your ice, the same way I’m coming to get my ice here at Ice Box. Alright? icebox.com,” she said during a promotional video shared on Instagram.
“Watch the full @unclewaffles_ episode on our YouTube now,” shared the jeweller on its Instagram page. “Link in our story!”

The full video was posted on the Ice Box YouTube channel and shows Uncle Waffles taking a full guided tour of the store by one of the workers and was shown the design and creation process, as well as some of the personalised jewellery items they made for some celebrities.
During the tour, they spoke about her Coachella performance and in the process, she points out a pink diamond-encrusted Rolex watch, saying that’s the one she likes.
“This is the one that I want,” she says and as the sales rep then wraps the watch around her wrist, to which she responds, excitedly, “It’s so hard.”
In the aftermath of the video, a popular Urban brand posted that Uncle Waffles bought the watch for a staggering R1m but later deleted it, not before drawing negative comments, IOL reported.
Waffles later posted an Instagram story to clarify that she had only been there for a tour, suggesting that she hadn’t actually bought the watch.
“I appreciate the love on this I was invited simply just to tour the place. Only ❤️.”
