A funeral held kuTsolo in the heart of the Eastern Cape caused a stir on social media when gun shots were fired at the graveyard allegedly leading to one person’s injury.
Shooting at funerals is a new trend that honours those who lived a life exposed to guns.
The gun salute is something that dates back to decades ago the years originally performed by the British Navy. It is meant to give honour to an individual in the military, or someone who had dedicated his life or contributed significantly to his country.
Happening at a small village kuTsolo mourners who attended the funeral of an alleged CIT robber included elderly women of the village who were seen crawling when many gunshots were fired by a large group of people including a woman.
Shared by controversial blogger @AdvoBarryRoux on his X (formerly known as Twitter), one of the four videos shows a woman in a military jacket excitedly taking videos while shots were fired from big riffles by men with whose faces were covered. Another one showed a woman in black clothes asking someone to hold what she was carrying before shooting in the air until the bullets ran out.
Sharing the videos on his social media, @AdvoBarryRoux captioned the post:
“This was at a funeral where people were left injured because of Gunshots.”

Comments from many social media users expressed great shock at what they were seeing with some stating that police were supposed to have been at the funeral as the late person was a known kingpin.
Police were supposed to have been deployed to a funeral of this kingpin or prominent member of rogue force to prevent such mischief.
