Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, recently reached out and donated an undisclosed amount of money to struggling actress Nandi Nyembe.
This is after the veteran actress’s heartbreaking appeal for help amid health and financial struggles spread on social media platforms, prompting Gayton to extend a helping hand.
The self-proclaimed minister of happiness recently took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to share a clip of himself on the video call with Nandi and another lady identified as Ntsiki, whom the thespian was directed to send her banking details to for the donation to be transferred. He assured her that he would send something small from his personal account for her to survive until he visited her in two weeks’ time.
He also vowed that when he arrived, he would fix everything for her.
We will fix the plight of our artist, we are hard at work already, this is the dying days of suffering of our creatives 🥹🙏 https://t.co/pqZF8AtRqM pic.twitter.com/0el8iqBbv5

Actor and former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member responded to Gayton’s gesture by saying he should fix the entire indistry, because the individual handouts will not solve the problem.
Gayton, fix the industry, these individual hand outs will not fix the problem. And while it’s commendable that you’re helping out, it’s not clear to me why you had to bring the cameras and post this. Nonetheless, fix the industry, you have all the tools you need https://t.co/EFIPaviWDn
