‘Where is he?’ – Sol Phenduka on Khanyi Mbau’s billionaire ex

Radio presenter and podcaster Solomzi ‘Sol’ Phenduka posed a question about Khanyi Mbau’s ex-billionaire hubby Mandla Mthembu on Twitter on Tuesday. Knowing Mzansi’s tweeps, their answers were nothing short of hilarious sarcasm.

Once titled one of the richest South Africans in 2007, according to Buzz South Africa, Mandla was a businessman whose estimated net worth was once R2.5 billion, says The South African.

Mandla started dating Khanyi when she was 19 and married her when she was 21 years old, he was 30 years her senior. He wore the finest of threads and drove luxury cars.

However, all this reportedly came crumbling down.

According to Briefly News, in 2007, Mandla’s ex-wife Dolly Matshabe claimed that the billionaire businessman was so broke that he could not afford to buy their child school supplies. A year later, Mandla was alleged to have owed the traffic department a whopping R78 000, and could not even afford to lodge for R300 per night.

The South African notes Mandla disappeared from the spotlight after he was reported broke in 2010, while Briefly News states he went completely off the grid in 2018.

Thus, Sol asked the question: “Documentary: Finding Mandla Mthembu. Where is he vele?”
