Former Yizo Yizo star Innocent Masuku, who played the role of Bobo on the award-winning drama series seeks an opportunity to showcase his stellar acting skills again, after learning from his past mistakes and cleaning up his act through rehab.
Bobo was one of the most loved and popular characters on Yizo Yizo, as his character had a lot of funny elements.
After the drama series, many cast members went on to cement their names in the acting industry, bagging gigs after gigs. Some of those include the likes of Thembi Seete, Meshack Mavuso, Jet Novuka, Dumisani Dlamini and many more.
In an interview with local publication ZiMoja the actor who is now struggling to make ends meet told the publication that his unemployment has affected his family as he is unable to fend for them. He also shared that this has affected his mental health too, adding, “I’ve dealt with depression because of this. More than just wanting to get back into acting, I just want to be able to provide for my myself and family.”
Taking full accountability for his actions that have landed him in his current unemployed situation, Innocent shared with the publication, “Let’s also be honest about my use of drugs, I’d say that is probably one of the things that have held my career back, but I sought help and I’m now able to function. I fought the addiction by going to rehab otherwise they (drugs) would have killed me.”
As a way to show his commitment to doing things right and cleaning up his act, the actor also told the publication that he also registered with an agent. While he tries to navigate life back in the acting industry, Innocent is hopeful that he will soon get a big break as he still believes in his talent.
