On Tuesday thousands of matriculants from the class of 2024 anxiously rushed to their school halls on final time as they awaited their fate by receiving the outcome of their National Senior Certificate (NCS) results.
While the moment was a precious one for the pupils, their parents appeared to be just as overwhelmed with emotion as they accompanied their teenagers to the school building. One proud parent who could not contain the amount of joy she had was former YoTV presenter and now radio host Carly Fields.
This comes after her daughter Indiana, a former learner at Pearson High School, reaped full rewards of her hard work but not only securing herself a Bachelor’s pass, which sets her up for the possibility of furthering her studies at a tertiary institution, but also doing so in excellent fashion.
Taking to Instagram the proud mother and media personality expressed how in awe she was.
“To say I’m proud would be an understatement!” she wrote.
“This daughter of mine puts her whole heart into everything she does, and her matric results are proof of that! Matriculated with a Bachelor pass and…Five distinctions!”
Continuing her post she added: “To my Indiana, your future will be just as bright as your past, keep on sparkling my baby!”

When it comes to hard work, it appears as though the apple does not fall to far from the tree.
Carly herself has been a shining light when it comes to her impact on South Africans from an early age. She was part of the YoTV presenting group that featured several iconic names including Dr. Musa Ntombeni, and Sipho Ngwenya, where she hosted shows like Wild Room.
Later she ventured into radio after winning the 5FM presenter search competition and has a BA degree in Audio Visual Communications.
As of now she can be heard on the radio frequencies of Algoa FM.
