With the help from social media, it did not take long for award-winning producer and singer Zakes Bantwini to find the man whose voice he used on his upcoming album, The Star is Reborn.

Zakes – whose real name is Zakhele Madida – shared on X (formerly Twittter) on 3 December that he was in search for the man and wanted to credit him.

Hi guys, need help, I’ve used this sound clip on my new album #THESTARISREBORN and I want to connect with this guy for credits 🙏🏿 pic.twitter.com/VOulETmH9S

A day later, Zakes returned to X, sharing with social media users that he was able to connect with the man, whose Instagram handle is @scebi_bhongobhongo. In the post, the man is seen signing what appears to be a contract.

“Look who came to see me in the studio today, Thank you guys for making this happen, deal done and dusted. Ngin’mele Nonke. Album out this Friday,” said the Osama hitmaker.

Although some social media users were happy to see the man being credited by Zakes, others voiced concern due to not having a lawyer present in the clip.

One user asked, “Did he understand the terms of the contract, though?”

Did he understand the terms of the contract thou?

While another expressed, “In this industry they rob you with a contract. I really hope that this brother lawyered up before just signing.”

Siding with Zakes, an X user shared, “Zakes Bantwini, unlike other artists who’ll shout ‘help me find this guy’ because he’s trending, used his voice in his upcoming song. He went on to look for him and found him and made a binding contract. All we’re concerned about is lawyers as if we’ll pay. Well done, Madida.”
