‘I’ve been dreaming of being the SAMAs red carpet host ever since I was young, and the fact that it’s finally happening is beyond my wildest dreams. Happy doesn’t begin to explain it!’ Zanele says of her new hosting gig. ‘The SAMAs is one of my favourite awards shows because it’s Mzansi’s biggest night in music.’Zanele adds that as a major music fan, these awards are so important for the entertainment industry and she’s thrilled to be a part of them this year. ‘As a radio presenter and DJ, music is my bread and butter. Music is life and the people who bring us hit after hit in our diverse and amazing music industry deserve to be celebrated all the time, over and over again.’As for what Zanele is most looking forward to on the night, the star says ‘I cannot wait to catch up with our music maestros on the red carpet, for us to check out what they’re wearing and to be bringing all the red carpet action live to South Africa. I couldn’t be more ready!’
