South African performer and socialite, Zodwa Wabantu, says she’s unhappy with calls for her to give up.
The 38-year-old is known for her explicit on-stage appearances and online presence to match. However, in recent months, social media users have urged the performer to hang up her towel, saying that her time is up.
In many clips posted to Instagram, in which Wabantu can be seen performing live, comments based on her age are apparent.
A certain video in question was posted last week to her socials, with the top comment being “Shem, you are really getting old for this ish”
“Zodwa Wabantu 🤌🏽 ZODWA WABANTU” the video’s caption read.

In response to social media comments, Zodwa Wabantu told TshisaLIVE that she was getting bookings and has no plans to end her career.
“I feel disrespected. How can someone decide to cancel me out of my kids’ bread? My work feeds a lot of people and makes a difference” the reort quoted her as saying.
“I’m not the club promoter or event organiser who decides to book myself. I get bookings from different places in the world and there wouldn’t be bookings if what I was doing was wrong or immoral. I am not going to stop doing what my fans love and I won’t be told by anyone to end my bread and butter, otherwise Ms*n* wabo bonke”, they further detailed her saying.
