Veteran actor and musician Bonginkosi ‘Zola7’ Dlamini recently reacted to the death of opera singer and teacher Thembisile Twala.
In a clip he shared on his Instagram page, he said he heard of her passing days after her death, and he has been receiving multiple calls after her death. He mentioned that Thembisile said she would flourish in her music career- and she did. He also said he would come back and update his followers on what happened because he has not visited her home, as it is important to let the family meet and discuss a way forward before the public can pay their respects in matters like this.
“I am told that uSis Thembi is no more. I have been getting calls and texts, but we should allow the family to mourn. I am not buying any story until I hear from the family. One thing I can tell you is she did very well. I am a bit moved,” said Zola 7.
Mzansi was first introduced to Thembisile when she featured in Don’t Cry from his chart-topping album, Bhambhatha after he discovered her singing talent on his SABC show Zola 7 in 2003.

Thembisile passed away on Saturday, March 1st. The Gauteng Choristers confirmed this in a statement shared on social media.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our long-serving members, Thembisile Twala, who joined in 2003. May her soul rest in peace. We are shattered as a choir,” read the statement.
