Singer and Freshly Ground band member Zolani Mahola took to her social media to share a beautiful message to her younger self.
The singer who also goes by the name The One Who Sings, validated her younger self on thoughts and feeling that she had in her younger years.
The singer who, while still with Freshly Ground, collaborated with Shakira on the 2010 football World Cup song Waka-Waka (This Time For Africa), started her post by reassuring herself of her beauty.
She shared:
“Dear Younger, Me, My Child… You are beautiful. You are precious. Contrary to what you believe you are not broken. Feel the love of those who care. There are plenty examples of these. Look closer and believe that their love is real.”
“Make friends with the idea of sacredness. Sacredness does not only belong in a church. Everyday moments are sacred: moments shared, laughter exchanged, even the moments of deepest darkest pain. Sacred. You yourself. Sacred. All the parts of you.”
The Nomvula hitmaker finished off by adding:
“Lastly my darling I want to tell that you exist. You are real. You mean a lot to those around you. Even when you struggle to see yourself, both your presence and your absence are felt. People love you for who you are. You do not have to perform all the time. Show up for yourself. Share yourself with those you love and trust and who are worthy of you.”
