It was a day of celebration for the African film industry as Don Julio 1942 took actors on a “Night in Hollywood”
Don Julio’s 1942 glitz and glamour event held at the Shepstone Gardens honoured lifetime achievements and rising African talent in cinema.
With the theme being a Night in Hollywood, the event mimicked the American film award show the Oscars.
The event honoured Dr Jerry Mofokeng Makhetha and Nambitha Ben Mazwi for their achievements in the South African film and TV industry.
Dr Mofokeng Makhetha told GQ that, “It’s inspiring to see a global brand focus a lens on the South African film and television industry because it is the hallmark of tradition, culture and even innovation. I’m honoured to be a part of this occasion.”
Don Julio’s 1942 event showcases the stars in their most dashing outfits.
Actress Luyanda Zwane from the telenovela series Sibongile & The Dlaminis wore a black sleek bob-tube dress paired with black arms-length gloves and finished her look with a hair do.
