Adidas has launched the latest colourway of the innovative Dropset 3 trainer, designed specifically for strength training and now represented by South Africa’s very own Mapule Ndhlovu, also known as @queenfitnass, as the face of its global campaign. Known for her dedication to fitness and inspiring presence in the gym community, Mapule brings energy and authenticity to the campaign, resonating with next-gen athletes globally.
The Dropset 3 trainer was created in response to findings that 82 million gym-goers are unknowingly training in inappropriate footwear, which can compromise their performance and increase the risk of injury. With its combination of stability, breathability, durability, and grip, the Dropset 3 addresses these issues and enables athletes to maximize their performance.
- TPU placements – strategically placed sidewall reinforcements that provide midfoot support and a solid base for explosive moves.
- ADIWEAR 6 rubber material – built into the toe and heel of the shoe for additional resilience and control for each rep.
- geoFIT construction – providing amplified heel support and padding, minimizing foot movement when powerlifting.
- adidas’ TORSION SYSTEM – placed at the shoe’s sole for increased stability, with an integrated airflow system for added ventilation.
- Dual density midsole – combining stiffer and softer materials, with the stiffer midsole foam for added stability and softer foam at the forefoot for cushioning and added comfort.
- adidas HEAT.RDY technology – using advanced materials to maximise airflow and leave athletes feeling cool.
- 6mm midsole drop height – provides a flat grounded feeling for controlled stability, working to distribute weight evenly while transferring force from feet to ground.
- TRAXION rubber is used in the outsole of the shoe to provide additional grip and reduce slipping, leaving athletes feeling locked to the ground.
