Reasons why conscious consumerism is the key to a sustainable future

As consumers, we sometimes never think about the amount of non-recyclable materials we use for our daily use, as sometimes we do not educate ourselves on how to consume products that will save not only marine life but the planet as well.

Just ask yourself, how many times have you thrown or made use of items that were not good for the environment?

Over the years, beauty and fashion brands have gone to find innovative ways to not only have discussions around saving the planet but also change their sustainable approach for the betterment of the economy and environment by looking at approaches such as having refillable makeup products and producing items that have one use.

According to Santander Open Academy, one of these approaches used was conscious consumerism which is redefined as making customers buy less without spending on more.

This approach is similar to the less is more approach where instead of using so many beauty products you can use one product that will help tackle your many skin care issues.

Fashion and beauty hub, GlamourSouth Africa adds that conscious consumerism in beauty products is looked at in a way where customers can get things with a click of a button without going to the store and how you get everything at you need at your fingertips.
