The Met Gala is a benefit held for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute to raise funds for the fashion wing of the museum. This year’s theme of the star-studded event pays homage to the late Karl Lagerfeld, titled, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”

Karl served as a creative director for Chanel, Fendi and his own fashion line. Thus, it was no surprise that we have seen quite a lot of Chanel-inspired garments and looks that resembled Karl’s signature style – starchy white shirt, black tie, black fingerless gloves and black shades.
