A Mamelodi-based hairstylist had many social media users confused after showing off the result of a client’s Elaine-inspired Fulani braids.
Elaine recently performed at the Rosé Sunday Picnic, rocking a hairstyle that inspired a woman to get the same hairdo.
The TikToker whose user handle is @HairByNolo shared a video on the app that garnered over two million views of her attempt to recreate the singer’s hairstyle on one of her customers. However, the attempt did not quite mimic what was seen on Elaine.
While Elaine had quite a few plaited, medium-sized braids, the customer’s was slightly thicker and fewer. Despite @HairByNolo’s work not mirroring Elaine’s hairdo, the client still showed signs of happiness.

Many TikTok users took to @HairByNolo’s comment section to express their confusion.
One user asked, “What is this now?”
Another said, “My concern is that you like it.”
“Does Elaine know about this?” asked another social media user.
One person said, “Not me waiting for the end product because I’m thinking we’re still trusting the process.”
While another stated, “I don’t think Elaine is aware that this is how you all see her hair.”
