If you are currently battling with skin issues like dark spots, uneven texture, or dullness, welcome to my unofficial “Our skin is supposed to be nice to us” club.
Problems with the skin are the worst, I tell you. I dread looking in the mirror at times because explain why I am struggling so much!?
I have been trying product after product and I get little to no effects. Yes, I know the dangers of product hopping but I am sure you resonate with me on this one, it is frustrating because I can never seem to get rid of the uneven tone and rough texture of my skin, no matter how much I hydrated or applied products on it.
I did, however, stumble upon a few glycolic acid videos, where the individuals were speaking very highly about its products and that it helps one solve several issues involving the skin. I was immediately impressed because what do you mean? This is perfect.
I also know that this is not enough for you to give it a go so here is some information from reputable sources.
According to Dermatica, “Glycolic acid is probably the most famous of the alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and a firm favourite among many dermatologists.”
While it sounds very scientific, I promise you that its benefits are really simple, the above dermatology website that addresses concerns of the skin states that its primary skincare functions include exfoliating the skin, enhancing its texture, and balancing out its tone. Glycolic acid, which is produced in a lab, is also found in plants like sugarcane. It is also well-recognized that glycolic acid has anti-ageing, brightening, smoothing, and exfoliating properties for the skin.
Derm Collective suggests that if you want to test how your skin responds to it, use a low concentration of 2% to 5% on a daily basis, or 10% once a week for at-home treatment. You may proceed to a higher percentage if it is well tolerated.
Now, these are terms that I would like to work with when I try out a product. If you’ve ever felt like your skin needs a boost but nothing seems to work, perhaps glycolic acid is the game-changer you’ve been waiting for and the missing piece to your skincare puzzle.
The Ordinary with 7% Glycolic Acid, L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Peel Pads, or Skin Functional 5% Glycolic Acid are just a few products that you should definitely get your hands on.
