We take a look at the fashion spotted on the Metro FM black carpet.
Unathi and Thomas Msengana
Unathi and Thomas were simple but well suited in black and gold. She was graceful and feminine in a sequinned ball gown, and Thomas complemented her in an all-black suit.
Bonang Matheba
The belle of the ball describes how we felt about Bonang’s outfit. She was flawless in a cerise gown, with an edgy hairstyle to match. This dress was made for her figure and she completely owned her look.
Cassper Nyovest
Yes Cassper, yes! Whoever styled him deserves a round of applause. It was sharp, experimental and fresh. Tribal met street in this ensemble and the pairing of the two was perfect.
Da Les
Leslie usually adds a fun twist to his outfits, but this time he chose the safe route. Nothing about it wowed us, and we must admit we prefer him with a more laid back style. The red and black combo with the studded shoes also didn’t work for us.
Lerato Kganyago
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Lerato Kganyago looking like she’s ready to take flight. This jumpsuit was a fail. It was too tight, the zip was misplaced and the shoulder padding was unnecessary. What a shame.
AKA
AKA was cool, calm and collected in his street gear. It’s nothing we haven’t seen before because this is generally how AKA always looks.
Lunga Shabalala
Until Lunga decides to get a new stylist who has some sort of creative vision other than constantly putting him in navy suits, we will have nothing interesting to say. The boredom continues.
Nomuzi Mabena
Too much skin and clothing that looks like it’s about to burst at the seam equals disaster. This outfit was wrong in so many ways which is sad because Nomuzi is so stunning and we have come to expect more from her.
Pam Andrews
It has become evident that Pam loves to get a reaction – this outfit is not surprising. Maybe one day she will really shock us and actually cover up.
Pearl Modiadie
This is an example of the saying ‘too many cooks, spoilt the broth’. This dress looks as though the designer had too many ideas, and tried to put them all into one look. What a mess! Better luck next time Ms. Modiadie.
Pearl Thusi
Pearl gave us a sneak peek of what she will look like on her wedding day in this wedding number. At least we can all agree that she will make a beautiful bride. On a serious note, this dress was misplaced. Wearing a Gert-Johan Coetzee creation is never a good idea if Queen B will be at the same event, because chances are you will come second best. Sorry Pearl.
Tbo Touch and wife
When bad outfits happen to good people the results are tragic; Tbo Touch and his wife fell victim to this theory. His ombre outfit was too distracting and dizzying, while his wife’s was unimpressive.
Thando Thabethe
We can see the vision and thought process behind the dress chosen by Thando. It’s different, intricate and she pulled it off really well.
Cyprian Ndlovu
Cyprian was all sorts of charming in this ensemble. Everything worked. He was fresh and on trend. High 5 to him!!
Boity
This dress wore Boity, instead of the other way around. It was too mature for her and looked heavy. It did give her body a nice shape, though.
Busiswa
Busiswa gets an A for effort. Her dress sat well on her and shaped her curves nicely. We wouldn’t have chosen that bag though since the dress already had tribal detail, so it was an overkill. The headpiece was also unnecessary.
