Popularly know as The People’s Poet, Mzwakhe Mbuli, has launches lawsuit against Google over ‘HIV positive’ profile.
Mzwakhe Mbuli is spitting fire and plans to take legal action against search engine giant Google for “profiling him as HIV positive”
Earlier this week, Sunday Sun reported that Mzwakhe was made aware that when his name is searched on Google, his picture popped up under a profile of “South African celebrities with HIV”.
During an interview with SABC, the people’s poet unleashed his anger over the situation, saying he was not afraid of the international giant.
“Who is Google? I’m saying I am not afraid of any name that you can dangle here or bring before me,” he said.
Commenting about the debacle on his Facebook page, Mzwakhe labeled it a tactic to “wipe out influential people”
“We should be hard on those who spread fake news and devalue the brands that we are because they are part of the bigger machinery to wipe out icons and influential black people who are principled and have an impact on the thoughts of the African majority,” he said.
Mzwakhe’s lawyer, advocate Mphafolane Koma, told the SABC that they are taking legal action against Google.
