A beautiful hairstyle doesn’t have to take forever to do, nor do you need to feel limited by your natural Afro. This 1950s-inspired hairstyle is loved by many and trends among local and international celebrities. These understated curls are perfect for looking glamorous, without cutting or colouring your hair.
Here are four easy steps to get tumble curls like Beyoncé
Step 1
Stretch your curls and coils using a hair straightener. Apply a heat protection product on your Afro to help strengthen it and prevent the heat from breaking it when styling. Stretch your Afro using a hair straightener that is not hotter than the recommended heat of 180°C.
Step 2
Using a thin tail comb, part your hair to create a track to place your hair extension. Comb the hair flat and away from the parting, allowing you to have space to place the hair extension.
Step 3
A clip-on weft is a single row of hair to be clipped between the hairs on the parting. Place the hair weft onto the hair on the side of the parting then clip on and comb hair over the hair extension to blend it in. Do this until you have covered the whole head.
Step 4
Apply a heat protection spray on the hair, then comb the hair out. Take a small amount of hair, clamp halfway with a hair straightener, then curl the hair. Run your fingers down the curls and tousle the hair to loosen the curls.
