It is so easy to become immersed in the mess of our hectic lives. However, you may have to decide to take a step back and maintain a calm and focused state by adopting a few easy habits.
According to Dr. Shalu Ramchandani who is an integrative medicine specialist at the Harvard-affiliated Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, all aspects of health, including stress management, benefit from 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity exercise, such as brisk walking.
The specialist mentioned above also claims, “When you’re self-critical, that automatically activates the stress response. If you give yourself praise and support, it helps reduce stress,” with words such as, “You can do this. You’re smart and strong and you’ve done bigger things before. Even if things don’t go your way, you’re doing the best you can.”
Psychology Today states, “You should celebrate your wins,” and further adds that your mind is adept at remembering your setbacks and disappointments but has a tendency to forget your joys and small victories which may seem like you have more bad days than good as a result.
“People who engage in self-care typically have lower levels of stress and improved quality of life, while a lack of self-care is associated with a higher risk of stress and burnout,” according to the health-focused publication Healthline.
The above health hub also mentions that journaling can be an effective way to express your thoughts and feelings while also reducing stress and anxiety.
