7 natural stress-busting tips brought to you by Freshpak Rooibos

Stress is not a seasonal problem; it is a problem all year round. And, we don’t always deal with it in the right way – we usually take it out on our loved ones or have a glass of wine rather than dealing with it in a natural way.

We’ve put together a list to help you de-stress the right way – the natural way:
1. Listen to music – Listening to your favourite song calms you down immediately. Music has an emotional link and allows us to take time to relax. Top tip: try belting out a song and notice how much better you feel.

2. Meditate – Meditation doesn’t mean spending a day in silence. You can meditate 15 minutes before you leave for work. This will give you a clear head to face the day ahead.

3. Drink Rooibos – Did you know? Rooibos works to lower the production of cortisol in your body, which is known as the “stress hormone”. So why not swap your daily cup of coffee for a delicious pot of Freshpak Rooibos and put up your feet and relax.

4. Sleep – A good night’s sleep is the key to helping you lower your stress levels. A well-rested person is a calm person.

5. Eat well – When you’re stressed, you usually go straight for junk food. A balanced, healthy diet nourishes your body with energy to deal with stress. So, instead of a chocolate, grab a handful of almonds.

6. Pilates – Pilates is a great way to relax. It stretches your muscles and relieves your mind at the same time.

7. Laugh it up – Laughing is really the best medicine. A good laugh has the same effect as exercise (the endorphins not the activity) and can leave you feeling refreshed and energised. Take a few minutes out of your day to enjoy the things that make you smile.
