Kick Start Your Day

Start the day with a cup of hot water and fresh lemon to help flush out all unwanted material in the body. Give your body a little time to wake up before having breakfast, your digestive system will love you for this.

Drink Lots Of Water

Try to drink three litres a day during your detox and eight glasses a day once you have completed your detox. At work, keep a large jug with water by your desk for easy access and to keep hydrated all day long.

Go Dark Green

Dark green vegetables are packed with vitamin C, folate and chlorophyll – all of which help to fight off bad toxins.

Get Juicy

Make yourself a delicious super juice every day. Super fruits like blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, are high in antioxidants to support your liver and are low in sugar and high in folic acid and zinc, which are vital for health and detoxification.

Goodbye Caffeine

Caffeine is found in food and drinks like coffee, tea, carbonated drinks and chocolate. It is a stimulant and should not be consumed in large quantities especially when you are detoxing. Instead of caffeinated drinks, enjoy green tea, rooibos, red berry or lemon and ginger teas or water.

Give Alcohol A Break

During your detox, avoid alcohol as it will only add to the toxins that are already in your system. Alcohol is also guilty of putting strain on your liver if consumed in large quantities.

Add Some Sulfur

Onions, spring onions, garlic and shallots are excellent food sources of sulfur, which contain amino acids that are important for detoxification.

Say No To Fats

The bad fats are called trans fats – they are damaged fats found in deep fried foods and some foods containing hydrogenated vegetable oils. These unnatural fats make your body’s detox organs slow down and require huge amounts of energy for digestion.

Take It Easy
