Woolworths urges customers who have purchased their Savoury Frozen Mix rice to return it to any of their stores for a full refund, amid fears of Listeriosis.
Recently, food and clothing retailer Woolworths announced a recall of their Savoury Rice Mix product whose supplier was identified as a potential source of Listeria in Europe.
Woolworths has explained the Listeria bacteria can easily be destroyed by cooking and the Frozen Savoury Rice Mix product is uncooked and frozen which means it requires cooking before consumption. Despite this, the company voluntarily recalled the product as a precautionary measure.
The Hungarian Food Safety Agency has gone through a worldwide product recall, and Woolworths has identified the product which is sourced from Belgium as containing frozen sweet corn sourced from Greenyard Factory in Hungary.
The Greenyard Factory has been implicated as the potential source of a Listeria outbreak in Europe.
Woolworths has announced that if anyone has this product in their home, they are welcome to return it to any of their stories for a full refund and that none of their other frozen sweetcorn or vegetable products are affected.
