Lejwe La Metsi Private Reserve, which opened 15 years ago, is designed to charm the senses of even the most discerning guest. This elegant sanctuary is located only 1.5 hours’ drive from the hub of Johannesburg, on the outskirts of Bela Bela in Limpopo.

We speak to the owners of this upmarket private reserve in Bela Bela.

When did you open Lejwe La Metsi?

The reserve villas were built 15 years ago for private individual use. We decided to go commercial in 2014.

How did you come up with the name?

The name of the reserve came about as the gardens have natural waterfalls, which are beautifully landscaped by Patrick Watson. The main waterfall, Lejwe La Metsi, means “Rock of Water”.

What does your lodge offer?

The lodge offers 5-star accommodation, which consists of 5 luxury villas comprising of 3 bedrooms-en-suite with marble bathrooms. Total capacity in the campsite is 15 bedrooms, sleeping 15 couples/30 people.

There is another larger private villa, which will only be opened in June 2015. It’s a home consisting of 3 bedroom-en-suite, a lounge dining room, kitchen and pool.

This reserve is for the discerning traveller who is looking for the ultimate in luxury and tranquillity – a hide away!

Is your lodge child friendly?

Unfortunately, the lodge does not accommodate children under the age of 16 years.

Do you have any group discounts?

Group discounts are available depending on the season, the number of rooms booked and the length of stay.

What are some of the things we could get to do and enjoy at your lodge?

One would be able to view rare exotic game and other wild animals in the bush. Game drives and bush dinners are available at leisure.

What would you say to your first time visitor? What can they expect?
