Bedrooms are our places of safety, where we are supposed to dream (awake and in sleep) of our future goals. It is very important for these sacred spaces to be kept fresh and clean, in order to draw and invite positive energies that will in turn allow us the full benefits of our four-walled- spaces.
By incorporating a few new ideas, and making sure that your bedroom stays neat and clean, you can create a space that will not only be inviting, but a space that may potentially heal you. Following are a few ideas to try that may assist in turning your bedroom into your sanctuary provided by iDiva.
Declutter your space
The first step to creating a calming atmosphere is eliminating the clutter. A clean room equals a clean mind. While you really can’t call someone from waste management, you can start by eliminating all the excess clutter and storing it away.
Add plants
If you can’t go outside, bring them inside. Plants have a calming effect; helps improve the overall air quality and give respite to your eyes after working on a laptop. Fret not if you don’t have pots or mud, or even seeds. You can grow dhania, carom seeds and basil from the seeds you have in the kitchen in a jug of water. All you need to do is germinate them on a wet cotton pad, and then transfer to a bottle when they grow roots.
Light a candle or an incense stick
Smell is a power tool in calming yourself down, especially if you add essential oils in the mix. Break out that scented candle you’d bought ages ago or light an incense stick so that it can instantly put you at ease.
Change your sheets and curtains
Avoid putting sheets that are too busy with prints and keep things as neutral as possible. You want to create a warm, cosy atmosphere and that means changing the linen in your room.
Play some meditative music
If you want to unwind after a long day, it’s time to make good use of your Sportify or music playlist. There’s plenty of meditative music which will make you feel zen. If you’re having a hard time sleeping, consider a meditative app or white noise.
