The celebrated ‘Theatre of Fine Food and Wine’ at the V&A Waterfront, Belthazar is set to be back on the 1st November 2022.
Offering guests a meat and seafood extravaganza, the largest wine-by-the-glass bar in the world and panoramic views of the Waterfront and Table Mountain. Belthazar became one of Cape Town’s leading restaurants, collecting many prestigious awards along the way, including best steakhouse in South Africa, best seafood restaurant in Cape Town, best Waterfront restaurant, TripAdvisor Awards of Excellence, Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence for its wine list, and more. Sadly, like so many restaurants in South Africa, it closed its doors in 2020 due to COVID-19.
Belthazar will be reopening its doors at the vibrant heart of the Waterfront, but just a few doors down, adjacent to sister restaurant Gibson’s on the seafront.
Belthazar is back with a twist. “We want Belthazar to be the locals’ first choice when considering a grill” says co-owner Ian Halfon.
“We will also be offering exclusive deals to loyalty card holders throughout the year as well as amazing value specials for the whole family in winter. This will also include our large selection of quality bottled own label house wines.”
“You can expect our same phenomenal steaks and seafood, our exceptional selection of premium wines served in Riedel glassware, our iconic wine bar with the biggest nitrogen-infused tap unit in the world, the very best and freshest ingredients with a focus on local, the same rich ambience and captivating vibe, and slick professional service – all set in an idyllic location, with our spectacular all-weather dining enclosure on the terrace offering the same glorious views.”
Belthazar will be launching its value al fresco lunch menu 7 days a week.
Not only will there be affordable value meals such as charcuterie, cheese boards, burgers, and steak and seafood offerings but also wine tastings so that nobody is left out of tasting our array of award-winning wines.
For those that want to indulge in something more substantial, their standard menu will be available.
“Retaining old favorites and our signature dishes will always be a focus. New and interesting additions will keep people curious and provide new memories for our customers. Our meat experience is expanding to include top-quality and pristinely marbled Wagyu beef products as well as a wider selection of cuts of steak to offer a broader range of affordability options. Locally and sustainably sourced fresh Cape fish, from the sea to your plate in record time, is also a priority. We are sourcing the latest award-winning wines as well as a bigger selection of well-priced house wines to accommodate all palates and pockets. Our new wine tasting experience, tantalizing cocktail menu and our summer terrace lunches will all no doubt be popular,” concludes Ian Halfon.
