Stains are a common occurrence in daily life, and they can be a real nuisance. But with the right know-how, you can get rid of most stains without damaging your clothes.

- Use baking soda and vinegar. First, apply a paste of baking soda and water to the stain. Then, pour some white vinegar on top and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Finally, wash the item in the washing machine as usual, says Good Housekeeping – a website known for providing information on household products and cleaning tips.
- Using lemon juice and salt. The above-mentioned source says that you should squeeze the juice of a lemon onto the stain and sprinkle some salt over it. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, then wash the item as usual.
- Make use of club soda. Laundry Care – an organization that provides training and education on laundry and textile care – advises to simply spray or pour some club soda on the stain and blot it with a cloth or paper towel.
- Use a paste of cornstarch and water. The above-mentioned sources advises you make a paste by mixing 1 part cornstarch with 3 parts water. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then, rinse it off and wash the item as usual.
