When it comes to taking care of our personal appearance, many of us go to extra lengths to ensure that we present the best physical version of ourselves to the world – the same should be done when it comes to our car.
The vehicles we drive are more than just a mode of transport for getting us from one location to another destination. Its appearance and physical condition often reflect the personality and character of its owner and should be treated in a manner that brings glory to the kind of owner you are.
Among some of the important components when it comes to presentation are your vehicle’s rims. Not only does it support the wheel and hold the tire in place, but it is one of those accessories that is guaranteed to gain you instant attention the next time you drive on public roads.
“Beautiful rims enhance the appearance of any car. But wetness, road dirt, brake dust, and road salt take their toll on them. Over time, the dirt can really burn into the rims. It then becomes increasingly difficult to remove dust and dirt completely,” explains the motor company, Karcher.
This is why it is essential that you put in the necessary effort to ensure that your rims are in tip-top condition.
Here are some interesting ways on how you can bring back the shine of your rims, as recommended by Fawheels:
- Aluminium tinfoil & cola: Soak a piece of aluminium foil (also called tinfoil) in some cola and rub it against the rust like you would if you were sanding a piece of wood.
- Vinegar: “Lingering grease can affect the quality and appearance of your alloys, but it can be removed with an application of white vinegar on a microfibre cloth. Cider also works well for this purpose,” highlights the above-mentioned publication.
- Lemon juice: “Squeeze some lemon juice onto the alloys (or apply with a cloth) and leave it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing off with water.”
