Kruger National Park
Perhaps one of the most popular of the activities to get involved in when making your way to this town is visiting the Kruger National Park. Attended by people from all over the world this is an ideal place to visit if you and your family are lovers of wildlife and nature. It is here where you can go on a guided tour and see our country’s Big Five.

Meanwhile there are various other spots where you can explore wildlife, some include Bushbaby adventures, Olifants River Safaris, Nandzana Safaris and the Kedibone Safaris.
Alebana River Lodge
During you break away from home you can visit the Alebana River Lodge a beautiful getaway retreat that overlooks the river that is home to a plethora of wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species. This provides you with a unique safari experience and sightings – especially during the evening. The number of activities offered at this lodge includes game drives, bush walks, birding, as well as star gazing and photography.
Foskor Mine Museum
Despite the town being best known for its wildlife, Phalaborwa was also a mining towm. Located in Koper Street, is the town’s oldest house.
“The museum is dedicated to celebrating the rich, long-standing mining history of the region and the important part this industry has played in terms of local economy and international recognition,” explains the tourism website SA Venues.
Here visitors can expand their knowledge on the mining history of Phalaborwa as well as the Big Hole, an open cast mine that has an impressive width of 20kms and a depth of 450 meters.
