If you are trying to conceive or on a journey to parenthood then you cannot afford to miss Fertility Show Africa (FSA) 2022, which this year will be free for all attendees – both online and at the live and in-person event happening at the Focus Rooms in Sandton, Johannesburg on July 23 and 24.
If you are actively seeking answers, solutions and treatments and in need of expert advice, support and encouragement, FSA 2022 offers attendees the opportunity to consult confidentially with a wide range of clinicians and experts as well as engage, ask questions, find answers and gather information from some of the industry’s best specialists, embryologists, nurses, psychologists as well as leading professionals in fertility who have struggled with their own fertility issues. Show participants will include doctors, practitioners, fertility clinics, legal advisors, support groups, surrogacy, adoption and donor agencies, natural fertility solutions and supplements, complementary and alternative therapies and nutritional and lifestyle advisors.
FSA 2022 highlights will include the popular Expert Talks programme, the Support Zone and the Q&A Sessions as well as an in-person Expo area showcasing the latest fertility and journey-to-parenthood products and solutions, enabling visitors to have direct conversations with exhibitors.

Mindful that many of those suffering from infertility prefer a certain level of privacy and confidentiality, FSA 2022 will once again host an online event that will run alongside the physical show. This will not only provide a platform for those wanting to keep their attendance more private but it will also allow visitors from all parts of South Africa, the African continent and the rest of the world to attend.
Some of the confirmed speakers for the Expert Talks programme include Noluthando Nematswerani (Discovery Health), Prof Donrich Thaldar, Dr Sulaiman Heylen, Dr Lawrence Gobetz, Dr Wamjiru Ndegwa, Dr Antonio Rodrigues, genetic counsellor Kelly Loggenberg, Dr Giuliana Baccino, Dr Razina Patel, Professor Zozo Nene, Dr N. J. Biko, Dr M.I. Cassim, Dr Alfred Murage, Dr Victor Hulme, Dr Tessa Moll, Dr Rizwana Roomaney, Advocate Linda Retief, Mandy Rodrigues, Sister Hanlie Monnery and past president of the Association for Dietetics in South Africa, Claire Julsing-Strydom.
Adv. Linda Retief presents on Surrogacy Legalities
3Sixty Biomedicine CEO, Boitumelo Sebambo “Fertility Show Africa have demonstrated once again why they are the go-to event and platform for sharing important content about infertility.
Topics covered will include Preparing for IVF; Common IVF add-on treatments and do you need them?; Why ethical practice matters when it comes to IVF; Age and fertility; Recent advances in fertility medicine; Pre-implantation Genetic Testing: the different options explained; Social Egg Freezing; Endometriosis and PCOS – Female Fertility; Egg and sperm donor cycle’; Causes of IVF failure and how to minimise the risk; The role of minimally invasive surgery in infertility treatment; Premature and low ovarian reserve: what it is and what are the options?; Surrogacy, as a woman not able to carry her own babies; Surrogacy – as a same sex male couple and Surrogacy – the law.
“The show is a wonderful event because it brought to light issues that are usually not openly discussed. In addition to providing great information, the show may also have helped in validating experiences relating to infertility.” Dr Rizwana Roomaney, a psychology lecturer at Stellenbosch University.
The Support Zone programme will be just as inclusive and filled with professionals covering need-to-know issues such as dietary and lifestyle changes for improved male sperm health (by pharmacist Debra Langley); adoption in South Africa (with private social worker Sue Krawitz); why a fertility coordinator is important in ART (Sister Hanlie Monnery); infertility in the African community (Pastor Jerry and Mrs Karabo Zwane); the role of mediation beyond fertilisation (advocate Linda Retief) and more. There will also be an exclusive screening of Wasted Seed an award-winning short film that explores the humour, trauma and absurdity of infertility in a refreshingly bold and realistic way.
“What a fantastic, professional, slick show.” said Tertia Albetyn from the Nurture Egg Donor Program on Fertility Show Africa 2021.
FSA is proudly supported by Ferring Pharmaceuticals, IFAASA (Infertility Awareness Association of South Africa) and SASREG (South African Society for Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy).
