With all the festivities behind us and the New Year now here, there are countless things to anticipate. As the old saying goes: ‘New Year, New Me’, many people find themselves looking for various methods as a way to reinvent themselves.
In 2024, you probably crashed out more than you anticipated as you sometimes failed to manage your time properly. Some people struggle to management their time and many spend hours scrolling on their phone instead of being productive or maybe they just never learnt how to break down their daily tasks without feeling burnout.
Worry not, as in 2025 you can learn more effective ways to manage your time leaving you feeling more lighter than ever.
Former ABC journalist and author of the self-help book 10% Happier, Dan Harris states that mindfulness is more about being productive than doing nothing, its about, “The ability to respond wisely to things that happen instead of reacting blindly.”
According to the TimeAlign hub, to increase productivity and lower stress, mindfulness components are being incorporated into time management apps such as Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Meditations App.
Jon adds that practising mindfulness can help you make better decisions, and helps you to declutter, and be more creative, whereas learning to surf can help you become more focused and competitive, increase productivity, and overcome distractions and multitasking.
Here are some methods you can implement in 2025:
- Set SMART goals: Use the SMART method to set specific, measurable, achievable, and measurable goals, as this method will help you identify how you can achieve this.

- Set time limits: Identify potential problems and set time limits for each task to be more efficient.
- Take breaks: Allow downtime between tasks to clear your head and refresh yourself.
