A little boy on TikTok went viral as he showed to the world he is wise beyond his years.
In the video, the little boy is seen giving his parents a lesson on how to treat him along with members of his household including his father who he purely placed an emphasis on during the video.
The video was posted by TikTok user @boopsalot who shared the video of the toddler talking about the importance of saying sorry to yourself and social media users were impressed by his simple yet profound teaching about humanity.
The little boy took the initiative to correct his parents’ behaviour and taught them a lesson on apologising. The boy politely asked his dad to apologise and even showed him how to do it by encouraging him to repeat after him.
“You have to say sorry to your kids, you have to say sorry to your mom, and you have to say sorry to yourself.”
The simple words out of the innocent child’s mouth touched many individuals on TikTok, and many pointed out that many parents struggle to apologise to their children as they fear that by apologising to their kids makes them look “weak” or lose their authority over their kids.
Social media users also felt that most parents, just because they are old, assume that they are always right and therefore do not need to apologise.
Dr Jack Stoltzfus at Parentslettinggo tells parents that apologising is an act of acknowledgment and not a mistake.
“It’s not an admission of failure as a parent but an acknowledgment that we’re human and make mistakes. Sometimes our anger, resentment, or even pride causes us to resist apologizing. Although our kids at any age have to be accountable for their behavior, it doesn’t excuse us from apologizing for our actions.”
Many people on social media were left in impressive by the little as they were in full support of the little’s lesson.
One user said: “Fully agree. Parents aren’t always right and should apologize to the children. Just because you’re the parent doesn’t mean you’re always right.”
Another users called the little boy a genius.
“This kids a genius, I don’t think anyone has ever said “You have to say sorry to yourself” this is a profound statement.”
